Children are encouraged to arrive at school between 8:30-8:45am so that they can settle and get ready for the start of school at 8:55am.
PLEASE HELP US TO KEEP YOUR CHILD SAFE
Please telephone before 9:00am if your child is going to be
absent from school or contact the school in advance to let us know the days
that your child is going to be away.
Where you cannot let us know in advance, or you don't know when your
child will return, please contact us every day that your child is away, and on
the day if your child is going to be late. 1. Phone: 376 1091 – option 1, and leave a message 2. Email: office@richmondroad.school.nz 3. Text: 021 890 078 (school/office cell phone) 4. Website: Absentees (on the side bar) and complete the form If your child is not at school, and we are not sure why,
someone from the office will give you a call. Children are not permitted to leave the school grounds
unless previous arrangements have been made at the office. This includes
private appointments or going home for lunch. If your child is late for school, they need to come to the office to let Nicole or Cathy know that they have arrived before going to their class We ask that parents send a note with their child on their return to school. This note is kept with the attendance registers as a record from their parents about the reason for their non-attendance. The roll auditors do check these records from time to time, but the main purpose is for the teachers and management team to be able to monitor unexplained absences. Withdrawing Children from School We ask that parents write to inform us in advance if they are taking their children out of school for an extended holiday or if they are taking them out of the classroom for a part of the day or longer. If you are taking your child out of school for a few hours, please fill in the 'sign-out book' at the office prior to coming to the classroom and inform the teacher in the morning. |
