Also going to bed early makes you healthy and strong ready for school the next day. If you do not go to sleep early you will lack concentration at school. I think children should go to bed early. The pizzas turned into aliens that spit fire. These pizzas hurt you when they fall on your head. When you eat them, you explode and melt. When everyone walks on the melted people, they squash you even more. When you come back to life, you are a pizza. FYNNLEY (R14, Year 3, April 2011)
My Late Flight It was a fresh sunny morning in LA. We had to get organised for our next trip back to San Francisco. We arrived with our luggage at the airport and went through the boring check in routine. We had to take off our shoes and jacket. I was very exhausted in the end. I was stomping everywhere. After that, we finally got to the gate. “About time,” I said to Dad. But then it got worse. We found out that our flight was cancelled. Everyone started to get frustrated. Waiting for one hour to pass was the last thing we wanted. When all of a sudden sizzling noises came from the front desk. Another continental plane had just arrived. As we walked in, we all got really squashed. Luckily, we all fitted in that small plane. We got to our seats in the end, waiting for the plane to take off. I sat back to relax. Then the captain put on his speaker, and told us about the forecast and for us to turn our electric devices off. Finally the captain put on the seat belt sign, and we all sat down to enjoy the flight, after all that carry-on. I looked out my window and saw the sun rising and the wing blowing side to side because of the strong wind. I guess this turned out fine after all. ORLANDO (Ruma 6, Year 3, May 2011). Hier, moi et mes amis nous avons fait de la craie et j’ai dessine un dragon sur ma figure. J’ai cru que j’allais me transformer dans une dragon, mais ce n’etait que mon imagination. Yesterday my friends and I were drawing with chalk, and I drew a dragon on my face. I thought that I was going to change into a dragon, but it was just my imagination. GAGE (Rm 14, Year 3, April 2011) Te rū whenua ki Otautahi Inanahi nei i rū te whenua ki Otautahi (Christchurch). Bubble Fubble One day my friends and I played with bubbles on the concrete. It was so much fun that my ears almost fell off. I blew a bubble so little that it went up my nose. I did a really big sneeze and it exploded and I laughed. That sunny day the bubbles rose into the sky. If you look closely into the bubble you will see blue and purple, and yourself of course.
