Two teachers and approximately six peer mediators (Year 5 & 6 students) supervise the playgrounds at morning interval and lunchtimes. They are the people any child can go to if there are any incidents causing concern. They can be easily identified as the teachers wear a fluorescent sash or jacket and the peer mediators wear green/yellow fluorescent t-shirts. In the case of an accident or severe concern, if the duty teachers or peer mediators cannot be found, the children may come directly to the office. There are two playgrounds at Richmond Road School. The Junior Playground (for Year 1, 2 & 3) is situated on the Brown Street side of the playing field. The Senior Playground (for Year 4, 5 & 6) is situated at the back of the playing field on the Douglas Street side. |
