We have joined the electronic era in managing our children’s attendance this year. You will no doubt recall your teachers checking on attendance by marking the class register manually. We will still mark and record attendance, however this will now be done using an online electronic register.
If your child is absent, for whatever reason, please let the office know. Where you cannot let us know in advance, or you don’t know when your child will return, please contact us every day that your child is away, and on the day if your child is going to be late.
- Phone: 376 1091 – option 1, and leave a message
- Email: email@example.com
- Website: Fill in form below
- Note: Send a note to the office via a sibling or neighbour.
If your child is not at school, and we have not heard from you, someone from the office will give you a call. On some days this can take Nicole up to an hour, so please take the time to contact us first.
We also need to know the reason for absence, eg. sickness or family bereavement as this information needs be entered into the system as well.
You will find a list attached below that allows you to see how absences are coded, and how the Ministry of Education defines absences as justified or unjustified.
With regard to regular lateness, teachers will not tell off your child as we assume that it is out of their control. If this is not the case, please let us know as we are happy to support you. Please be aware that most children find being late to school unsettling as they will have usually missed some key notices or instructions. Ideally children should arrive at school by 8:45am.
