School donations are a critical source of funding for our school. The Ministry of Education gives us an operations grant that does not cover all the expenses needed to provide the education we seek for our children. Donations cover the extra expenses that are important to the running of our school and our children directly benefit from these extras.
We understand that for some families, the donation is difficult to achieve. For these parents we encourage a donation, only if you can or as much as you can afford. All donations are tax deductible and you can request a receipt for tax purposes so you can claim back 33% of your donation.
If you have any queries about school donations, please do not hesitate to contact the school. The school really appreciate the monies it receives and we look forward to reaching this year’s target for donations.
Donation – 1st child $300, 2nd child $200, 3rd child $150
This structure is still in place. School donations are voluntary, but we hope that parents/whanau will support us in this area. School donations are tax deductible and receipts will be provided to those who request one.
The $80 Activity Fee (per child per year), ensures your child can participate in all EOTC (Education Outside The Classroom) activities. Each child will attend 3-4 trips per year, related to enhancing the curriculum. This Activity Fee is compulsory and doesn’t cover school camp or sports teams.

IRD Donation Rebate
The IRD rules state that the following payments qualify for the Donation Rebate
- Donation payments to state schools (including integrated schools), schools approved as charities for tax purposes, school boards of trustees or parent-teacher associations. These payments must be donations, not just a payment of school fees.
- state-funded schools for payment of fees, as long as these go to the school’s general fund.
Payments that don’t qualify are
- Payments for classes where there is a take-home component, such as woodwork
- Where attendance or participation of the activity is voluntary
- Transport to or from a school activity, such as a camp or food at the camp
- Tertiary or tuition fees.
Parents should claim for any general purpose school payments they have made.
Parents will need a Rebate Claim Form (IR 526) which will either be sent to them or can be obtained from www.ird.govt.nz or by phoning 0800 257 773 (need IRD number).
