What Is Zoning? To confirm whether you live in zone refer to map at the bottom of this page or use Find a school tool
Enrolment at Richmond Road School is governed by an enrolment scheme approved by the Ministry of Education. The enrolment scheme details our school’s ‘home zone’, and all students living in the ‘home zone’ detailed below are entitled to enrol at the school on the general roll (or Kiwi Connection - English-medium) at any time. However, living within the ‘home zone’ does not guarantee a place in the school’s Special Programmes. If you would like your child to enrol in one of our Bilingual Units - Special Programmes - please complete the application/enrolment form by September of the year prior to your child starting school. Applications must be received by 3pm, date to be confirmed for 2024 for your child to be included in the main enrolment round for 2025. Your child may be enrolled after this period if there are still spaces left in these programmes. Students who live in the home zone are entitled to enrol at the school at any time. Submitting an enrolment when a child is 4 years old - helps us plan for the future.

Out of Zone Enrolments 2024
During 2024 we will be considering Out of Zone enrolments for Kiwi Connection (our mainstream English unit), for students starting this year. You are welcome to download our Kiwi Connection Enrolment Form from our school website and return it to our School Office: [email protected] This will then be passed onto our School Board for consideration.
Each year the Board will also determine the number of places likely to be available in the following year for the enrolment of students who live outside the home zone. The Board will publish this information by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school. The notice will indicate how applications are to be made and will specify a date (usually a date in September) by which all applications must be received.
Students who apply for our special programmes (bilingual units) are selected based on criteria set out in the enrolment scheme. If the number of applicants who meet the criteria exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot.
If you require a copy of the enrolment scheme or enrolment pack these can be downloaded from this page.
For more information please contact our School Office: [email protected]
